Technologies for Dental Treatments
At Birchmount Dental Group, our technology helps inform treatment planning and make dental appointments run smoothly.
Because we can display digital X-rays and scans on the monitors in our treatment rooms, we can show you any issues in your mouth and walk you through your treatment plan.
We aim to provide dental care while ensuring you are fully informed about your oral health. Dental technology helps us do that.
SprintRay Digital Printer
In-office dental 3D printing helps improve the efficiency of restorative dental care. We will begin the process by using an intraoral scanner to take digital impressions of your teeth and bite. These images will be sent to our computer where we can design your new restoration, such as a crown or bridge.

At Birchmount Dental Group, we use diode laser technology for preventative care and soft tissue modification. This laser enables our dentists to perform dental procedures with less pain and fewer medical interventions. Our dentists use this technology to contour the gum line, remove decayed tissue, reduce bacterial presence, and decrease inflammation.
iTero® 3D Scanner
The iTero intraoral scanner captures accurate 3D impressions of your teeth and bite. These images create your custom Invisalign aligner trays, show potential outcomes, and monitor your treatment progress. These images are stored digitally and are easily accessible by your dentist.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays use digital sensors rather than traditional photographic X-ray film. They generate highly detailed computer images of the teeth, gums, and other oral structures and conditions, enabling your dentist to examine parts of the mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.
Panoramic X-Rays
Panoramic X-rays enable a dentist to capture a complete image of the entire mouth, including the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and nasal and sinus structures. These X-rays are commonly utilized to assist in planning treatments for dentures, braces, extractions, and implants.
Intraoral Scanners
Intraoral scanners produce digital dental impressions, offering a precise and efficient alternative to traditional impressions. Dentists use an optical scanning wand, which enables them to obtain the necessary data to create digital impressions of the hard and soft tissues in the mouth.
Oral Cancer Screening Device
VELscope® is an oral cancer screening device that helps dentists identify abnormalities and diseases in the mouth, such as cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. This technology can be used in your dentist’s office during routine exams and under normal lighting conditions to display abnormalities in about two minutes.
